A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor

Kathryn Moon

This book made me realize that monster romance just isn't my jam. To each their own — just not for me.

Underneath It All

Kate Canterbary

I found myself pulled into the Walsh Family, though I did not finish the final book. There are so many books in the series, by the time I got to that one, I felt like I had spent enough time with them. The characters are all relatable and have depth, and I found myself cheering for each pairing as I moved through the series.

Heated Rivalry

Rachel Reid

I loved the show, and opted to just read/listen to the books related to Shane and Ilya. My assumption is that the other books are likely good as well, but after watching the show, I was the most invested in their story. Reading/listening to Heated Rivalry and The Long Game gave snippets of other characters and storylines, but not enough that I felt compelled to dive into the other books in the series.

Susan You Are the Chosen One

Lauretta Hignett

As a fortysomething woman, this book was really fun. I was honestly feeling tired of reading about young women saving the world. I enjoy those books, but wanted something about a strong middle-aged woman. Susan is just a random woman who finds herself launched into the world of magic and fae. Very entertaining.

Thresholds

Kate Canterbary

I felt like I had spent enough time with this family, and didn't really feel invested in continuing their story.

Susan, Break the Curse

Lauretta Hignett

To be completely honest, I was ready for the spice...which just didn't come. And the storyline was starting to fall a bit flat for me. I stopped feeling pulled in/curious about what happened next.

Credence

Penelope Douglas

Ok...this was honestly kind of cringey for me. And yet...I couldn't stop reading it out of sheer morbid curiosity. Probably check trigger warnings, or at least the synopsis before diving in.

Whisky and Roses

Bella James

This was a feel good romance. I really enjoyed the setting, characters, and storyline.

Gifting Me to His Best Friend

Katee Robert

This is not a great book, to be honest. I wanted something spicy, and it was that. I didn't really care about the characters, and I don't think I was meant to.

Flock

Kate Stewart

I could not stop reading/listening to these books. Suspenseful, a bit dark. Engaging characters and storyline. Still not totally sure if I liked them or not. If emotional damage is your jam, here you go. Check trigger warnings.

Unfurl

Elodie Hart

So...this series is about a group of friends who own a sex club. Very spicy and 100% open door (obviously), yet I found myself caring about the characters and their storylines. I was invested in their happiness and relationships. I like when authors are able to make you care about the characters and the storyline, despite what otherwise might be considered "smut".

Three Doors

J.L. Vanders

I honestly did not like the characters in these books, and looking back, am not 100% sure why I continued reading the series after book 1.

The Price We Pay

Auryn Hadley

I was looking for a romantasy that was more of a goddess/mythology themed rather than fae and dragons. I continued reading into the third book because I kept waiting for...something. But I honestly just didn't really feel myself getting invested in the characters or their storyline, so I set book 3 down.

Twice the Malone

Laylah Roberts

Wanted something spicy, book itself not that great.

When the Moon Hatched

Sarah A. Parker

I know so many people love this book. I definitely enjoyed aspects of it, but can't say that it was my favorite. Still working on book two.

Throne of Glass

Sarah J. Maas

It took me several attempts to make it through this book. I ended up skimming through it to get an idea of what happened, so I could move on with the series (which I became more invested in).

Empire of Storms

Sarah J. Maas

I opted to tandem read Tower of Dawn & Empire of Storms. Highly recommend.

Kingdom of Ash

Sarah J. Maas

So good. And so long. I loved it, but also think it could have been edited a bit more. Manon Blackbeak. The 13. Amazing characters. Manon is right up there with Bryce as my favorite Maasverse characters.

Fourth Wing

Rebecca Yarros

The book that brought me into the world of romantasy. 🐉 So good! The story, the characters, the suspense, the romance. And the threads of meaning woven throughout.

Spark of the Everflame

Penn Cole

I really enjoyed this series. I liked the premise, the world, the MMC. Still need to read Book 4, which was recently released.

Gild

Raven Kennedy

One of the best series I've read (perhaps my favorite). The *best* FMC character arc, and the MMC is top 10. Top 5. You really have to read the series in its entirety to appreciate the depth and beauty of the story.

Order of the Scorpions

Ivy Asher

I can't really remember this one too much, but I think I liked it. I tend to like any book where the FMC is a badass.

House of Earth and Blood

Sarah J. Maas

LOVE! One of my favorite books and series. I love Bryce's character. So excited to see what happens moving forward.

Kiss of the Basilisk

Lindsay Straube

I just couldn't do it. I know it's had its moment on BookTok. And I tried…but, no. Check trigger warnings and the overall premise before diving in.

The Lies of Lena

Kylie Snow

From the cover alone, I honestly probably would have never picked this one up, but all of the positive things I saw on Instagram led me to give it a try, and I couldn't put it down.

Lights Out

Navessa Allen

I listened to the audio of this one. It was entertaining but not really my jam. Definitely check the trigger warnings before venturing in.
